How do private ambulance services differ from public ambulance services?

Public ambulance services are those services owned and operated by county and/or city government. Ad-valorum taxes paid through property taxes are generally used to subsidize these operations. Private ambulance services are shareholder or privately owned and operated. The statutory guidelines through the state of Florida are applicable to both the public and private sector.
