PRIMARILY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CARE AND TRANSPORTATION OF THE SICK AND
INJURED VIA COMPANY AMBULANCE
Employment as a Paramedic is contingent upon approval of the Medical
Director
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:
-Current valid Florida drivers license (class D with E endorsement)
-Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (16 hr. minimum)
-Current valid State of Florida Paramedic certification
-Current valid AHA ACLS certification and AHA or ARC professional CPR
-Must pass company sponsored physical exam (post offer - pre
employment)
-Must possess physical agility necessary to lift and move patients
safely
-Must be neat and clean at all times
-Must possess good written and verbal communication skills
-Must pass company driving test
-Must have temperament to deal professionally with other health care
personnel
-Must have temperament to deal professionally with disabled,
disadvantaged, sick and injured persons
ESSENTIAL DUTIES INCLUDE:
-Patient assessment, treatment and transport
-Verbal and hard copy patient care reports
-Daily vehicle inspection and equipment/supply checklist
-Cleaning and basic maintenance of vehicles (inside and outside)
-Safely lifting and moving patients onto and off of the stretcher and
in and out of the ambulance
-Familiarization of geographical area and use of maps
-Utilization of radio communication equipment
-Knowledge of and adherence to ALS protocols
-Standby and on-call
-Adherence to standard operating procedures
INCIDENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED AS NECESSARY BY
SUPERVISORY PERSONNEL
